WalterJACKSONPassed away peacefully at Olive House, Bacup on July 18, aged 96.
He leaves behind his children Keith, Sandra and Steven. His grandchildren Carrie, Jon, Ashley, Kasha and Mathew plus eight great-grandchildren.
Walter was born in Crawshawbooth and lived in Britannia, Bacup with his late wife Edna for almost 50 years, before moving to Waterfoot.
During the 1960s/1970s he worked at Durie and Miller Haslingden before starting a new career as an engineer.
He loved his Country and Western music and was a very keen sequence dancer. After his retirement, he would attend several weekly dancing sessions in Rossendale, with his late wife Edna.
He was a character and will be sadly missed by all who knew him and his sense of humour. With his favourite greeting "Alreet Cock".
His private funeral will be held on August 3, close family only.
Family and friends of Walter are welcome to celebrate his life with us on August 3, 3pm at Bacup Cricket Club.
Donations in memory of Walter will be gifted to Rossendale Hospice.
