Sharon was my beloved teacher at secondary school in Canterbury. All these years later she is still one of my greatest inspirations. Never had I met such a compassionate, talented, joyful and transformational teacher. It is so sad she is gone, but I still hope to make her proud. Sharon believed in me more than anyone else ever had, and this was true for so many children in her care. It just goes to show that truly remarkable people change lives for the better, forever. Sending all my love to her family, in the hope they are well. I am only sorry I have now missed her far longer than I knew her, but I am so grateful to have known her.

I first met Sharon in the October of 1986, at Kent University. Throughout the 22 years of our friendship I was always aware of her extreme kindness. The examples of this are too numerous for inclusion here, but memories of them will be with me for the rest of my life.

Sharon was a true friend, loyal and fun to be with. She was, without doubt, a dedicated teacher and had a rare, clear style and poise. She was the kind of person others would ask for advice from, because of her faultless taste.

Whatever she did, she did with perfection and dedication. She was one of the best friends I have ever had and I know that I shall always miss her. The world is truly a worse place now that Sharon is not in it.
