Good night and God bless you dear Joan. A lovely lady who I had the privilege of knowing since my teen years when teaching dance to your two beautiful daughters. Always a friend thereafter and I looked forward to receiving your newsy Christmas letters each December. The last one I received was you telling me of your diagnosis and not to worry if I didn’t receive anymore cards. That was over 20 years ago and you have been so brave. The love of your wonderful family and carers saved you until now. Rest in peace dear lady xx

I knew Joan from aged 5. I spent many a day at the Jone’s house, playing having tea. Out on day trips or on holiday with them. She treated me like one of her own children. People may think of John as the disciplinarian but I remember Joan’s look! One glad of that look and you stopped doing whatever you shouldn’t have been doing. She touched the lives of so many during her career. Much love to Rach, Vince, James, Thomas and all the grandkids xx
