Alexander John CurrieKAYPeacefully, with his beloved wife by his side on Friday 10th July 2026, in the care of Briery Park, Thornhill.

Alexander (Alex) Kay, aged 85 years of Drumlanrig Street, Thornhill and formerly Carronbridge.

A dear and caring Husband to Elizabeth. Alex was a keen golfer, bowler, dart player and fisherman who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

A service to celebrate his life will take place on Thursday 23rd July, at 12 noon, in Durisdeer Village Hall, followed thereafter by an interment in Durisdeer Cemetery.

Flowers welcome. Donations, if so desired, may be given at the service in aid of Cancer Research.

We met Alex and Liz on a cruise to Norway in 2008 and have been friends since that happy holiday. We will miss the laughs we had together and send our deepest sympathy to Liz.

We were lucky to have known Alex when we moved to Thornhill. He welcomed us as his neighbour and we shared many times chatting in his much loved garden. He shared his freshly grown veg with us and we will never forget his kindness. We’re sorry to hear of his passing and we send all our love to his wife Liz and family.
