We were so sorry to get the news about Harold's death. He was the last of the Kirkham 'oldies', but had a long life and left many memories behind for all of us. It was very touching that he and Mum kept in touch until almost the very end of their long lives, even if you (Neil) and I had to act as go-betweens to help make sense of the Chinese whispers that otherwise happened! I was amazed that your dad always replied to my letters, even when he was obviously getting to be quite frail and it must have required a big effort. I will enjoy re-reading them all. He'll be a big miss for you; we were both very fond of him - his warmth, his smiles, and his gentle nature. We'll be thinking of you.
