MaggieKRAUSMuch beloved mother, grandmother, partner, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend, Maggie, passed away peacefully in Berkshire.

Funeral to be held at St. Margaret's Church, Brotton, N. Yorks at 11:30am on Tuesday 18th March with Harry Thompson Funeral Service.

Donations to Teesside Hospice would be gratefully received in lieu of flowers.

About Maggie,

(For her friends in East Cleveland)

There is far more to Maggie’s story than her time in East Cleveland but I can say a little about her life there.

Maggie settled in Brotton over twenty years ago.
She loved her little house on Cragside with its sheltering garden and wonderful views of the sea. She loved her friends at St Margarets and her neighbours in and around East Cleveland.
She enjoyed participating in local cultural activities and she had many friends in the Easington Tappers, local choirs, folk clubs, local writing and history groups and in the Labour Party.

Maggie was unable to say goodbye before she moved from JCUH to Berkshire to be near Emma, but she wanted you all to know how much she enjoyed her life with you and how much she valued your friendships.
Maggie believed that community spirit, friendship and love are the ties that bind us all and that they are the very essence of human life.

So if she were here now she would say: -

‘Goodbye and thank you for your special friendship and all the happy times we spent together.’

Maggie taught me at school, the main person who stuck up for me.
She could have been an M.P. , and stood up in parliament and it’s a pity she wasn’t.
I hope there will be more women like her .
We will remember her . X
