JamesLAINGMR James Laing, of Hawthorn Avenue, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington died on Monday, April 6, aged 79. Jim, as he was known, worked at Shopfitters in Oswaldtwistle for over 25 years, and was a selfemployed joiner for over 20 years. James was a joiner at Stonyhurst College, Clitheroe when he retired. He liked to play snooker at Springhill Working Men's Club, and enjoyed socialising, walking and watching athletics live at Gateshead. James was a member at Green Haworth Golf Club and enjoyed touring holidays. Husband to Irene and father to Raymond, Michael and Steven, he was father-in-law to Jill, Tracey and Julie, and grandfather to Aimee, Georgia, Charles and Alex. A private service was held on Tuesday, April 21 at Accrington Crematorium, led by Kathy Unsworth. Donations, if desired to MacMillan Cancer Support.
