LAWRENCEBrian P. February 1, 1933 - March 31, 2017 Passed in Omak, USA. Brian was born in Cambridge to Joseph and Dorothy (Rowell) Lawrence. After completion of a machinist apprenticeship, Higher National Certificate in Engineering and service in the Royal Air Force, he joined Marshall Aerospace in Cambridge followed by a long career at the Boeing Company in Seattle. He focused on aircraft doors and was the lead engineer on the refurbishment of Air Force One. His proudest moment of his career was when his 747 escape slide design performed beyond specifications allowing all passengers and crew members to exit from a moving Pan Am flight 93 before the hijackers exploded the plane. He is survived by his wife of 62 years and love of his life Jean (Barlow), daughter Carol and son David and Brian's brother Michael. An avid reader of scientific publications, talented gardener and woodworker he was always doing a project including creative beach excavations with his grandkids. David H. Lawrence
