Eileen June LeeLEEOn January 15, 2025, Eileen June Lee peacefully departed this world at Trevana Care Home in St Austell, reuniting with her beloved husband, Bob. She was 97 years old. Eileen's deep affection for the Cornish countryside blossomed during her childhood, nurtured by countless family holidays in the area. This enduring love inspired her and Bob to leave the hustle and bustle of a London suburb and settle in Newquay, where they created a warm and welcoming home that Eileen cherished for the rest of her life.
In her beloved kitchen and garden, Eileen found joy and solace, cultivating not only flowers but also her remarkable talent for baking. She delighted in sharing her creations with family and friends. Another passion of hers was walking along the breathtaking Cornish clifftops, where she would marvel at the powerful currents and watch surfers chase the waves.
Eileen was a strong-willed and ambitious woman, always encouraging Bob to pursue his interests. When he could no longer work, she lovingly encouraged him to embroider, which blossomed into a fulfilling hobby. Under her gentle guidance, Bob crafted exquisite pictures and gifts that found their way to local craft fairs and shops, bringing joy to many.
Her warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her-family, friends, and the community she embraced.
A celebration of Eileen's life will take place on February 11, 2025, at 1 pm at Penmount Crematorium in Truro. Her ashes will be scattered in Trevissik Park in Truro on February 13, 2025, at 9:30 am.
