Commodore Oliver John TLINDSAYCommodore (MN) Oliver John T Lindsay Crossed the Bar on 23/09/202 aged 95 years. Oliver was born on the 14th April 1925 in Barry, South Wales. From the age of 13 he attended Reardon Smith Nautical School. He experienced the hardship of a merchant seaman at war and has been awarded the Order of the Chevalier and the Ushakov Medal. Oliver had a successful naval career rising to the rank of Commodore within the Rearson Shipping Line. He was former president of the Merchant Navy Association (Cardiff) and the South Wales Branch of the Russian Convoy Club. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his daughter Christine and grand-daughter Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy (mother to Christine) and grand-son Thomas.
