MurielLIVESEYMURIEL Livesey, aged 90, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 9 after a short illness. Muriel lived all of her life in the Rossendale Valley, spending her early years in Edgeside and attending school in Lumb, where her grandmother lived. On her subsequent marriage to James (deceased) she moved to Stacksteads, where she lived for the remainder of her life. Muriel loved to play darts and dominoes, representing many of the local teams in the valley, winning many trophies and cups along the way. She was still an active member of the Green Squirrel team right up to her death, holding the position of dominoes captain. Muriel was a lifelong member of the Rosemount Working Men's Club. She leaves one surviving sister Kathleen (Australia), children Kathleen, Michael, Marian, Vanessa, Margaret and James. She was a loving grandma, great-grandma and great, great-grandma. She will be at rest at the Knight and Boys funeral parlour in Stacksteads. The funeral will take place at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday, March 24 at 11.40am. Family flowers only please. Donations if wished can be made to Save the Children c/o funeral director Dawn Winfield for Fred Hamer Funeral Services.
