My darling Jen
We met at school - you were the year above me and left for 6th form to a different school. You had such a hard time there and then returned to St George’s in my year.
Within minutes we’d found each other.
I was smart - you were ferociously intelligent. I loved art - you were an exquisite artist. I was happily ignorant of who I was while you were crushingly ignorant of your extraordinary talents and beauty.
We laughed a lot. We cried a bit.
We broke the rules a few times. OK, quite a lot of times!
We reconnected later and still had so much in common, so much to laugh about and so much to love about.
You’ve had so many challenges in your life and your career but my darling you have always been so loved.
You have the most wonderful family and that’s because you were the best wife, mum, daughter, sibling and friend.
I’m beyond sad I can’t be there tomorrow, at your funeral, to say goodbye.
I love you, I do. Rest quietly now and trust that your beautiful legacy will abide.
Good night, dear friend.
