Some people leave footprints on our hearts that time can never erase. Myra was one of those rare souls. She embraced life with remarkable enthusiasm, meeting every high and every low with courage, humour, and an unwavering zest for living. Whether she was travelling to a new destination, gathering with family and friends, or simply sharing time with those she loved, Myra made every moment count. She believed in living fully, and she inspired others to do the same. Family was at the centre of her world, but her kindness and warmth extended far beyond it. She was blessed with many dear friends who loved and cared for her just as deeply as we did, a reflection of the extraordinary person she was. I met her dear friend Dot during my final visit with Myra. She and Dot spent many years travelling and Myra had shared many special (and humorous) memories of those travels. Dot was a faithful carer to her last day, sitting bedside and caring for her dear and much loved friend. For me, Myra was more than a cousin. Despite the years between us and the miles that separated us, we shared a bond that always felt effortless and close. I will miss her visits to Canada, our long video chats, our laughter, and the comfort of knowing she was only a call away. Those memories are gifts I will treasure forever. My two boys were so blessed to know and spend precious time with Myra during her many visits to Canada. When I shared the news of her passing, my eldest son Brandon simply said, “Myra was a special lady… rest peacefully.” In those few words, he captured what so many of us feel. She truly was special. Myra leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, resilience, and friendship. Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we are grateful for the privilege of having known and loved her. Rest easy, Myra. You lived life to the fullest, and you leave this world having made it brighter for so many. You will be missed terribly & remembered always, Rest Easy. Until we meet again 🥰
