Paul was a fantastic teacher. I ran the Landsend to John O Groats under his guidance as well as across Dartmoor. A great influence on my life, a fantastic character. Whenever I was in Cornwall I would try and catch up with him and he had never lost his sense of humour. A great man thanks for all the memories and times RIP

In life we are often asked who was the person who influenced you most whilst you were at school and 25 years after leaving Poltair I still come back to the same answer - Mr. Manning! The countless hours Paul donated to others is something that will live long in those who were lucky enough to know him. Without Paul I probably wouldn't be the person I am today - above all else he taught me the art of determination and never giving up. Thank you for the most wonderful memories and opportunities as I grew up. Thank you for helping to shape me. Rest in peace. x

Mr Manning, (as we called him) was a true inspiration to myself and my sister throughout our athletics careers . Fond memories of training sessions to the beach in our lunch breaks ,mini bus trips to track, field and cross country events. Lands End relay races and the 24hour relay race around the field which St Austell Hospice is now built on
We have lost an irreplaceable man with a wicked sense of humour and that unforgettable smile
So proud to have been a Poltair Plodder🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

I think I can say that on behalf of Hayle Runners what a credit to the running community Paul was. He will be sadly missed with his amusing stories and tales from years gone by.
