MattMCALISTERPassed away peacefully on Saturday 11th March 2023, aged 86 years. Devoted husband to Patricia, wonderful loving father to Matthew, Andrew & Tracey, and beloved grandfather to Matthew, Antoni and Oliver. Dear brother to George, much loved uncle, and dearest friend to many. We can't believe you are gone, our hearts will be forever broken. A service will be held at Cannon Hill Chapel, Coventry Crematorium on Monday 3rd April at 1.30 pm. A wake will follow, to be held in Matt's beloved "Centre", the Potters Green Community Centre in Wigston Rd, Coventry CV2 2QR. Flowers are most welcome and can be sent to Grimmett and Timms, Albany Road, Earlsdon, CV5 6NG (by Friday 31st March). Or donations for Prostate Cancer, in memory of Dad, also welcome. Dad, you are my hero. It's tough without you but today especially. Father's Day, and a car show too! Would have loved nothing more than a wander and a listen as you tell me all those you worked on, drove or even owned. I miss you.

Dad, I'm still doing my best. Trying to come close to yours, but that's a very special high bar indeed. I need your firm strong hands, just to press on me, keep me standing tall - to halt the wobbles and tremors - to close up my bleeding heart - to feel you once more.

I'm impossibly proud to be your son, to be a part of the precious boundless loving life that you led. Still holding you close, always.

Dad. You have always been my hero. You showed me what it means to be the best version of yourself. I am trying to follow in your steps but you cast a long beacon of light to reach. A light I'm holding on to, so tight - I just can't let go.

I love you. Without you, without Mum, I am just a shadow on the pavement. But trying to live how you wanted me to.
