WalterMCGOWAN(Walker) Peacefully at home on 24th February surrounded by his family, aged 70 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary, much loved dad of Lorraine, Michael, Elaine and Steven, and father in law of Robert, Elaine and Gary. Also a loving and doting grandad of Stacey, Paul, Sharnmonique, Andrew, Zara, Emma and Lucy, and great grandad of twelve. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral service to be held at the West Road Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday 17th March at 10.30am followed by interment in Heaton Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to St Oswald's Hospice or to Marie Curie Cancer Care. A donations box will also be available at the service.

Grandad you gained your wings on the 24th February even tho I am upset you are gone I am glad you are not in pain and suffering anymore and back with Nana Mary the love of your life. Now gone but never forgotten, always in our hearts, till we meet again, love your granddaughter and great granddaughter Stacey and Ellie-Mae xxxx

On Monday the 24th February dad you gained your angel wings for months leading up to that day it broke my heart seeing you everyday in so much pain and not being able to take that pain away from you but now even though my heart is breaking I know your not suffering anymore and that your with the love of your life and childhood sweetheart your wife and my mam r.i.p forever in my heart until the day we meet again Lorraine xxx
