JohnMCLAUGHLINPeacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday the 8th March 2026, aged 93 years. John "Jack" McLaughlin, formerly of The Breconrae, near Mouswald. Adored husband of the late Moira McLaughlin (née Bell) and much loved father of Gillian, Julia, Simon and the late Mark McLaughlin, grandfather and great-grandfather. Former deputy head teacher in Maxwelltown High School and previously, Loreburn St John's. A celebration of Jack's life will take place at The Crichton Memorial Church on Friday 22nd May at 11 am, followed thereafter by refreshments, music and memories at The Holiday Inn after his Ashes are laid to rest in St Andrew's Cemetery. All friends, colleagues and former pupils are very welcome to attend. Jack would never have wanted any formality to celebrate his life, so come in what makes you feel comfortable. No flowers please. If you wish, you can make a donation to Alzheimer Scotland online or on the day in memory of Jack.
