JohnMILESJohn Barry Miles, aged 81, passed away peacefully on 21st September 2026.
John was an amazing man whose Christian faith shaped every part of his life.
Through his work, leadership and friendship,
John played a part in transforming the lives of countless people.
John was also an engineer, a teacher, an author, an academic and a painter bringing creativity,
imagination and a love of learning to all that he did.
He had a gift for inspiring others, nurturing their potential and helping people
believe that their lives could make a difference.
Alongside all these achievements, John was a devoted family man and friend.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Grace,
and by his children and their families: Lorna and Matt Spina,
Paul and Kate Miles and Lucy and Paddy Dean.
He leaves behind his much-loved grandchildren, Sierra and her husband Tim,
Kaeli and her husband Josh, Kira, Isaiah, Ethan, Jenson, Jack and Daisy,
as well as his younger sister Pat and Tony Romano.
John will be remembered for his generous heart,
his deep faith, his passion for people and mission,
his creativity, and his constant encouragement of others.
His influence reached far beyond the places he lived and worked,
and the lives he touched will carry something of his legacy forward.
And, of course, John was a passionate Aston Villa fan -
a love that was very much part of who he was!
John will be greatly loved, deeply missed, and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
John's funeral will take place on Friday 23rd October at 12.15pm
at St Peter's Church, Hillfields, Coventry followed by a private cremation service.
