So sad to hear of Howard’s death, he always made us smile. From his posh denham hair brush, male grooming before the phrase was invented, the quick one liners and dedication with the fire cadets. You looked after Johnnie so well and he has nothing but praise for you & we are very grateful. RIP Howard, love John & Cheryl Rolph xx

So sad to hear the news. An absolute character and a Red Watch legend. I’m proud to say that I worked with Howard. From his silky table tennis skills to the aftershave that cleaned the tiles, he always put a smile on my face. RIP Howard.

Such sad news that this Red Watch Legend has passed.
All the memories of Howard I have make me smile. Either in or out of work, we all knew he would be looking out for us. He was such a good friend & I’m proud to have known him.
Unfortunately the time has come to ‘Stand-down Morley’

So sad to hear this news. I worked with Howard on Red Watch at Cambridge fire station for a number of years and he was one of those old school characters it was a pleasure to work with and learn from. Away from firefighting we both shared a love of music, especially our respective precious vinyl collections. It's perhaps fitting that when I last saw Howard in St Ives earlier this year he was strolling along with some 7" singles in a plastic bag. Some bargains he had picked up from the secondhand stall to sell on! An old rocker to the end!!!
Go well Howard. Enjoy the eternal record shop and remember - "Go wide at the lights"!
