Uncle Jeff,

What a true gentleman you were. Always warm, generous (although not with the heating at Christmas!) and, most importantly, hilarious. I’ve never heard a louder laugh from anyone and I hope I never do. I think the best thing anyone can do when they go is leave behind funny memories for their loved ones, and you have done that superbly.

You leave a massive hole in our lives, but I hope somewhere in the beyond you’re doing all of your favourite things: watching Westerns and the cricket, seeing Juninho play for the Boro again, listening to the Stones and drinking a constant stream of gigantic mugs of tea (maybe with a budgie sitting on the edge of them!)

Love,
Your nephew Charlie and Holly

To my husband, my life will not be the same without you. My only consolation is that you are no longer in pain. All my love always, your loving wife Sue.x

My uncle Jeff.

I miss you and I think I will forever. You were always more than just an uncle to me. Growing up you were like my grandad.
A source of happiness, joy, laugher.

My favourite memory I have of us together was at our Disneyland Florida holiday. We had just walked into Disneyland and I was so excited. I saw a Disney character up ahead in his costume and couldn't contain myself. I remember you took my hand and looked at my with all of the joy of a child in your eyes as we ran together to the character so I could get a signature. You always showed me what true fun was.

I hope you are at peace and you are having a blast at the Great Gig in The Sky.

I love you. Ella x

I only have the fondest of memories of Jeff. Our muni gang of the early eighties was the best of times. I’m sure Jeff, Davy White, Gordon Atkinson and Wally Latheron are having a game of golf and a good craic somewhere. RIP my old friend. Xx
