Mary ElizabethO'CALLAGHAN(Née Davies) (Mae) Mae of Gerald Street, Aberavon, Port Talbot. Passed away peacefully in her 90th year on Friday 28th February 2025. Loving wife of the late John. Cherished daughter of Norah Evelyn and Stan and a much-loved sister to the late John. Mae was a proud matriarch and a figurehead of strength and guidance to her large and loving family. She is survived by her five sons, Christopher, John Denis, Anthony, Patrick and Peter and a large extended family of daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her deeply and remember her with unbounded love, as the heart of their family. Kind, considerate and loving, she was a woman of great faith, devoted to her Roman Catholic beliefs. A friend to many and a comfort to all who knew her. Her warmth, generosity and steadfast love will be fondly remembered and hugely missed by all whose lives she touched. Mae's body will depart from her home at 5.30pm on Thursday 20th March, to be received into St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Water Street, Aberavon at 6pm. Friends and family are asked to gather at Gerald Street to accompany the cortege on the walk to the church. A Requiem Mass will be held the following day, Friday 21st March at 1.00pm. Following the service Mae will be laid to rest in the family grave of the Churchyard, reunited with her beloved John. There is an invitation to join the family at the funeral reception in Blanco's Hotel after.
