I'm truly grateful that I discovered "Cousin John" by the posting of his DNA on the Ancestry website, without which I would never have known about him or his beautiful family.

It turns out that we shared a grandfather, making John my half-cousin. I was fortunate enough to meet him twice over the past couple of years, and he welcomed me into the family with his beaming smile and kind heart, which he so generously shared with everyone.

At the celebration of his life, I had the privilege of meeting many more of my newfound family members. He left me not only with cherished memories of our time together but also the lasting gift of many new cousins.

John's kindness and warmth will always be treasured in my heart along with my newfound relatives.

Uncle John. What a lovely uncle you are. Always smiling. Always happy to have a little chat. You loved your cricket. So much so, that I remember you watching it so intently....with both eyes closed!! You'll never know how happy I was to have you attend my wedding. It was so great to see you there and to see all of the extended family again. It made my heart sing. I'll always remember you and also your saying "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift and that's why they call it 'the present'". You are a true gentlemen. Go now and have your well earned rest. All our love. Philippa & Matthew.

John was a man that you could absolutely say had the purest heart and was a most kind and gentle soul. His smile was infectious and could light up a room. He was calm and patient and always had an interesting story to tell.
John was one of a kind who will be so very much missed by his family. I was very fortunate to have known John a little and I know what a true gentleman he was. Be free and fly John, forever the Adventurer!

Today we say goodbye and celebrate the life of my wonderful Dad. You never demanded anything from anyone and were always so thrilled with every moment shared with you. The truest version of a giver and never a taker to anyone whether they were in your life for a fleeting second or for life. Going to miss you so very much. I’ll try to keep giving out your smiles and carry your wisdom in my heart always.

This is the hardest thing I have ever had to write, an emotionally and very sad goodbye to a Wonderful Brother, the last of my siblings. A Brother who was always there to share a joke and make me laugh. We had many long phone calls and frequent visits to meet for lunch, sadly in latter years these visits declined, but never the phone calls.
I am so thankful to have had our time together and to have known such a loving, compassionate and smiling gentle man, the last of our dwindling generation. I will miss you 'Bro' - you have left behind many people whom you have taught to 'smile' again with your infectious smile. I will always treasure the time we shared. May your soul shine brightly forever.
Rest in peace.
God Bless.
Your loving "little" Sister.
Wendy .
