James TaylorRATCLIFFEMR James Taylor Ratcliffe, of Pilling Street, Acre Village, died on Thursday, March 5, aged 83, surrounded by his family. James was born in Bury but lived most of his adult life in the Haslingden area. He retired as a cloth dyer and enjoyed a long retirement, making the most of his hobbies of walking, family holidays and his main passion of cycling, which he enjoyed until the beginning of the year. Husband to the late Mary, he leaves sons Mark, Craig, Phillip and Daniel and their partners, grandchildren Jake, Guy, Calvin, Charlie, Amber, Alea, Bailey, Archie, Daisy, Jack and Harry, great-grandchildren Naythan and Lexi, his sister Sheila and brother Paul and their families. The funeral took place on Thursday, March 19, with a service at St James Parish Church, Haslingden at 10am, followed by cremation at Accrington Crematorium officiated by Fr David Stephenson.
