David HughesREESMR David Hughes Rees, of Parkwood Drive, Rawtenstall, died on Sunday, November 10, at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 89. He served his time as a plumber, before working as a gas engineer for British Gas. He enjoyed bowling, walking, dancing and playing dominoes, together with cycling and socialising with friends. He was also a member of Whitaker Park Bowling Club and Ramsbottom Bowling Club. He leaves wife Mary, daughter Carole and her husband Ivan, daughter Heather and her husband Stephen, grandchildren Emily, Katie, Thomas, Jordan and Bethany, together with greatgrandchildren Jessica, Harriet and Thomas. A funeral service was held at 1pm on Friday, November 22, at Kay Street Baptist Church, followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium at 2.30pm administered by Rev. Matt Hirst.
