Dear Uncle Colin. RIP and enjoy the rest. Sadly due to distance, we weren’t that close, but I know you are from good stock, and you were dedicated and passionate about all you did, especially your running and family . You had a wicked sense of humour. They don’t make them like you anymore and you’ll will be missed by many.

Never to be forgotten.

To a legend throughout my entire running career who will be sorely missed by everyone who he came in contact with.

Sadly I could not make it to Colin's funeral, so I am using this opportunity to say how much I was inspired by Colin early in my running career with Rochdale Harriers, and it goes without saying how highly regarded he was within the whole distance running community across the North. A great man who made such a positive contribution to the running community.

Colin was a true gentleman and always lovely company. He was always modest about his achievements but he did so much for athletics and gave so much back. Steve & I will really miss him.
