GaryROGERSGary was an incredibly well-loved man. He was a devoted Father, a loving partner, as well as a much loved son, brother, uncle and friend to many.

Gary’s funeral will be held on the 15th of July at 13:30, at Wear Valley Crematorium. The family have asked that people wear something purple and/or something NUFC-related (eg a scarf), since purple was his favourite colour and he was a lifelong ardent Newcastle United supporter. All are welcome to attend, but please feel free to send confirmation to his son Will on 07411 056 746 if you’d like to register your intention to attend.

After the service, food will be provided at The Cobblers Hall pub in Newton Ayecliffe (DL5 4SE). We hope to see everyone there to further celebrate the wonderful man that we all love.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Gary’s honour. We have chosen to donate to Cats Protection since he was a cat-lover, leaving behind six of his own beloved rescue cats.

It took me a while to really know Gary, but once I did i realised that Gary was a kind, compassionate and caring man. He was always there to listen to me whinge about work or personal stuff, he never cast judgement. Nightshifts working with Gary were always enjoyable partly down to his playlist that was as eclectic as mine 😁.
Gary was 'black and white' through and through and, as a proud Geordie, he was the first one that I messaged when Newcastle won the Carabao cup, and he was buzzing.
He was greatly respected by his friends in Biochemistry at North Tees and is greatly missed.

Rest in Peace mate
Alli

Garry was a wonderful person as a colleague at work and a friend. Always there to help out with valuable advice and suggestions. As a huge supporter of NUFC while I supported FCB, we always talked football. He cared for his cats and always checked them out on his ring camera. I will sorely miss my friend, Mr Onions (like I call him) and I pray God comforts his family. Rest on Mr Onions.
