The obituary notice of Martin Anthony Macdonald ROSS

We first met Martin at the rally in France at Le Grand Bornand in 2015.

A boules tournament had been arranged and Joyce was partnered with Martin. Both full of apologies for having no skill (but wanting to join in anyway) they lost their first match! It was the start of a growing friendship over the next nine years.

At Martin’s first rally on Leon’s field in St.Ives (Cambridgeshire not Cornwall!) he noticed that we had bikes with us. He asked Bob if he knew of any good rides to which Bob relied “yes”. So the three of us set off together on the first of many rides over the years around the local villages.

In more recent times Martin cycled with Sid and here’s a sketch Joyce did last year through our van window of the two of them planning their next ride.

Such a lovely man. We have only got to know you in the last 3 years through the Autosleeper Club but have greatly valued your warmth, humour and friendship. We will miss you.
