BrianSALTIt is with great sadness that we announce that Brian, aged 89 years, passed away at home on the 17th March 2025.

A beloved husband to Jennifer, much loved Dad to Harriet and Emily and Grandad to Ilona, William and Laurence. Also a dear brother to Jennifer and the late David, Mavis and Derek. Brian was also a well respected father-in-law and uncle.

In accordance with his wishes a private unattended cremation will take place. While there will be no formal service his family are grateful for the kind messages they have received.

Brian will be very much missed by all who knew him.

A fabulous granddad and father-in-law. Always loving and warm. You always needed to be well read (on current affairs) if you entered a debate with Brian. Along with Jennifer producing 2 beautiful daughters of which I was lucky enough to marry one! Brian will always be a flickering light in Ripon . And for his sins converted me in to a Grimsby supporter (as my 2nd team!). John

A wonderful granddad and superbly supportive and warm father-in-law. You always had to be well read to have a current affairs debate with Brian. I learnt that early on! He raised (with Jennifer) 2 beautiful daughters and I was lucky enough to grab 1!

I’ll miss you Brian. And thank you for ensuring my 2nd footy team
Is now Grimsby. John

Often think of the times at Doigs and on the fish docks and on the North Sea gas rigs when you used to come in to our room and call all set gents to get us back to work
