Spent 20 years travelling with Steve to and from Lindsey Oil
Refinery. Nice bloke and an excellent Shift Chemist.

Steve - Sammy. Like all who played with him I am proud to have been a teammate for good old EHCC. His dishevelment, idiocyncrisy and driving ‘skills’ are legendary. He was the best of club men, always there to help and support in whatever way was needed. His kindness and willingness to be there for anyone who needed it knew no bounds and I am proud to have known you. Keep working on the cover drive Sammy.

Steve or 'Sammy' as everybody at East Halton Cricket Club knew you. Truly the most conscientious, dedicated and thoughtful person we could ever wish to meet. You were the definition of a clubman and stalwart whether it was somehow cobbling together a working lawn mower out of some old bits of scrap, hours spent preparing the pitch or fearlessly going out to open the batting on a sticky wicket in your 60's! There are so many memorable Sammy stories whether you were on the pitch, in the bar or behind the wheel of a car, and the members of the former EHCC send our condolences to all of the family at this sad time.
