Well, Dad, we finally did it. After all the years, all the ups and downs, Newcastle has won the League Cup. I can’t tell you how much I wish you were here to see it. I’ve been imagining how you’d be celebrating, maybe shouting at the TV, or laughing about how we’ve finally managed to bring home some silverware.

I just wish I could have Facetimed you after the final whistle and seen you on the other end, sharing in the excitement like we always did. You were always there for the highs and lows, mainly the lows lol, just wish I could share this moments with you.

It feels bittersweet, Dad. So much joy, but also an ache that you’re not here to enjoy it with me.

Love you, always and forever.
Bob.
