James IanSHEPHERDPassed away peacefully at home on Tuesday 18th July 2023. Aged 76 years. The much loved Husband of Christine, loving Dad to Joanne and Carolyn, Father in Law to John and Pete, devoted Grandad to Edward and George, Brother in Law, Uncle and a dear friend to many. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Service to take place at St George's Church, Oakenrod on Thursday 27th July 2023 at 2.45pm, followed by Committal at Rochdale Crematorium. Donations if desired to Springhill Hospice c/o Dixons Funeral Service, 2 Manchester Road, Rochdale, OL11 4HY. Telephone 01706 645501.

Mr Shepherd was an inspiration to those he taught, he inspired me to study Geography at Uni and now I’m back at KD as a teacher myself. The best there was, never forgotten. RIP Mrs Shepherd. Sending condolences and lots of love to his loved ones. Jess Peer (Levine) xxx

Thanks for being a great mentor to me as a young teacher. I still miss the amazing Italian meals you used to cook!! To Ian's family - he used to talk about you all the time at school!! Sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear this news...we met originally at Rochdale Technical School for Boys and later in life I was fortunate enough to play football with Ian at Castleton Parish on many occasions R.I.P. Ian a true gentleman.
