We met when we were just teens – a friendship formed – and you stayed right by my side for almost thirty years. You were more than a friend; you were the one I could put the world to rights with, hour after hour, talking about everything and nothing at all.

You saw every single side of me – the good days, the messy days, the parts I hid from everyone else – and you loved me exactly as I was, no questions, no conditions. You had more wisdom and kindness in your little finger than most people have in a lifetime; you always had the perfect words, the best advice, a way to make anything feel lighter. And we laughed so hard about how you’d give everyone else the most brilliant guidance, but never quite managed to take it for yourself. That was just you – always there for everyone else first.

Forty-four years was nowhere near long enough. But I will carry every memory, every laugh, every late-night talk, and every piece of your heart with me for the rest of mine. You didn’t just change my life – you were a huge part of what made it good.

Rest easy, mate. Thank you for seeing me, for sticking with me, and for loving me like you did. I’ll never forget you. Sam xxx

Ash, it's sinking in.
- the maximum number of days without speaking or texting you have gone.
I can no longer hear your voice on my phone, or see your smiling face when I visit you.

The little things I took for granted ... enjoying a 'meal deal' together, lunch at the Fisherman's Rest, a coffee together ...
Our conversations ... jeez sorry, I probably bored you to tears! Your satisfying cheeky smile when I brought you a chicken curry and spicy doritos and your favourite sweet treats.

Your advice and wise words were always taken on board - we gave each other different perspectives to think of.

I was 11 when you were born - I still remember the love and joy you brought. You were like a younger brother to me ... living in our childhood home in Elm Road, before you moved on to Parbold.
A natural bond grew and the unconditional love was solid.

You grew into such a lovely young gentleman ... kind, considerate, caring, respectful, loving, handsome.
Then, one day, life took it's devastating twists and turns - heartbreaks and setbacks took their toll.

Ash, you were so brave ... trying to protect everyone from your suffering, with your smile and upbeat attitude.

Our lives weaved in and out, but we always reconnected - the heart never lies, and true bonds are never broken.

Watching you suffer on and off was heartbreaking.
You fought so hard and were so brave. Even in hospital you voiced how your family was the most important thing to you.

The night before the angels came Ash, you asked to go home, to Ellerslie Court.
The day your wings were fitted, I promised you I would take you 'home', where I know you will be spreading your wings and flying above us all.

Dear Ash, though it's come too soon, and our hearts are broken, we know you're finally at rest. You will forever be in our hearts, and I always have, and always will love you 💙

Rest in eternal peace to the most handsome Angel above ... 'Our Ash'.

This makes me so sad, I’m so sorry to hear the news.

Ashley, we had so many great times in B&M, memories I will cherish forever. Our nights out with everyone was so much fun.

This does break my heart for all your loved ones. Please know I am thinking of you all.

May you be at peace now and rest with the Angels. Good night and god bless, Ash. RIP. XXX
