CatherineSMITH(Bothwell / Edinburgh) It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Catherine Barr Smith known as Rena, who passed away peacefully on Saturday 9th January at Edinburgh Western General after a short illness. She was born in Bothwell on the 7th September 1931 and married to John W. Smith from Milngavie in September 1950, who preceded her in death in 2005. Rena is survived by her sister Margaret; her two children Gordon and Margo and their spouses SC and Jimmy, plus her granddaughter Yanni. Due to current restrictions a private ceremony was held on the 27th January at Mortonhall Crematorium in Edinburgh. A memorial will be held at a future date to celebrate Rena's life.
