Dearly loved grumpy-gramps to Brooke and Emily and Pop-Pop to Benjamin and Evelyn, dear brother to Paul and Jaqueline and brother-in-law to Wayne and the late Barry.
Born in Derry Phil started life up Cregan road surrounded by extended family before moving to Oswaldtwistle where he finished his primary school life at St Mary's Primary, Oswaldtwistle before going onto Holy Family. Here Phil made many friendships that have lasted through the years and he loved the many school reunions held and was looking forward to celebrating the 50th reunion this year.
Phil married Jean in August 1981 and throughout their marriage enjoyed holidays first as a family and then as all the children grew up, Phil and Jean enjoyed each other’s company in their beloved Playa Blanca Lanzarote were many who got to know him became cherished friends and like an extension to their family.
Phil started his working life initially at Sterling dog foods before moving on to Blythe’s chemicals in church. Phil then went back to college to study business and computers and became a printer before settling in later years working at ASDA Accrington were he became a familiar face on the shop floor.
Phil enjoyed nothing more than spending hours fishing during his stays at the caravan with Jean or playing a game of snooker with friends, having for many years played for local snooker and pool teams. He was also a Manchester city supporter having watched a game as a young lad and then following them through out his life.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
