PaulTATEPassed away peacefully and with his family around him on Tuesday, 23rd January, after six months of wonderful, loving care at Monkscroft Care Centre. Aged 78, Paul was a much-loved husband, dad, grandad and friend to many. Paul was headteacher of Whaddon Primary School from 1985 until 2005, and before that, deputy headteacher of Rowanfield School. Prior to that he taught at Cheltenham Technical High School and Cheltenham Grammar school.

He was a proud supporter of Gloucester Rugby Club and a former rugby player for Cheltenham and Gloucestershire. The funeral will be held at Cheltenham Crematorium (Oak chapel), on Wednesday 14th February at 11am.

This celebration of Paul's life will be informal, so please come dressed however you feel comfortable.

Afterwards, everyone is welcome to join the family at: Cheltenham Tigers Rugby Club, Southam Lane, GL52 3PE. Family flowers only, but if you wish to make a donation to the 'PSP Association' (a charity who support research into Progressive Supranuclear Palsy - a rare form of Parkinson's disease), you can do so on the day or online at:

Such a lovely, kind man who had an absolute passion for Whaddon school and did everything he could to support his children. My family certainly benefited greatly from his support and encouragement. Deepest sympathies to his family. The Carley Family
