Suzanne JuliaTATEIt is with great sadness that her family are announcing the recent and peaceful passing of Suzanne Tate, following complex illnesses, at The Royal Derby Hospital on Tuesday 11th June 2024, aged 63.

She was a much-loved family member of the late Joe and Sylvia Tate, sister Glynis, brother Kevin and a devoted auntie to James and Helen.

Suzanne was an inspirational leader and instructor in Girlguiding for 46 years. She volunteered with The Scouts, the RYA as a senior sailing instructor and was a former President of a Derbyshire WI. She will be hugely missed.

Suzanne was a Teacher of the Deaf and worked at The Royal School for the Deaf in Derby for 24 years, until she retired in 2016. She was a great advocate and held in great esteem by the school and the deaf community.

There is no need for traditional funeral wear and Girlguiding members may wish to wear uniform.

A Celebration of Life Service for Suzanne is to be held at:
Trent Valley Crematorium, Derby Road, Aston on Trent, Derby, DE72 2AF on
Friday 12th July 2024 at 4.30pm with a BSL Interpreter

Donations would be much appreciated in memory of Suzanne, to the RNLI and Trent Lock Scout Activity Centre. Donations can be made at the funeral or to

Fellows Funeral Directors, 156 Station Road, Mickelover, Derby, DE3 9FL.

It was with a heavy heart that I read of Suzanne’s passing - I worked with Suzanne at RSDD and she was a wonderful friend and colleague who helped me so much as a new member of staff. She had a great sense of humour and was loved and respected by both staff and students alike….
Prayers and thoughts to family and friends and may peace and comfort find them during this difficult and sad time…
Rest in peace dear Suzanne 🕊️ 🤍

Dear Suzanne, we were at school together and after we left a group of us would meet up quite regularly. We went to the proms at Kedleston Hall one year and to the opera for my 40th birthday. Happy times. God bless you. Love, Sue Trigg née Talbot xx
