ClareTATTERSALLCLARE, aged 88, formerly of Baxenden, passed away peacefully in Henley House nursing home, Accrington on Friday, January 1. She was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur Barnes and late Clara Alice Barnes (nee Wright), formerly of Rising Bridge, and the treasured sister to Freda, Frank, Susan, Jimmy, John and the late Arthur, Alice, Ann, Bobby, and Tony. Clare was the dearly loved wife of the late Bert Tattersall and formerly of the late George Edward Stone. She was a devoted and loving mother to Barry, Philip and the late Allyson and Valerie, cherished grandma to Hannah and husband Adam, and stepmother to Susan and her husband Philip. Clare started work serving meals at the local school and later in life was a textile weaver up until her retirement. Her main interests were gardening and looking after her home, which was spotless. She loved dancing, spending time with her family and friends, local outings and trips abroad, in particular, to Benidorm. She especially liked family gatherings, certainly at Christmas, and whenever we went out for a meal she would always have her favourite, which was fish and chips with tartare sauce. She spent the last two years of her life in Henley House, which she loved, and all the residents and staff became a new family to her. We are all thankful that Clare passed away in the place where she was happy and that she called home. Clare was a wonderful woman, had a wicked sense of humour, a sharp tongue, a cheeky smile and always had a sparkling glint in her eye. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her family and friends who had the pleasure of both knowing and loving her. The funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Monday, January 25 at 1pm. Family flowers only please; donations are being gratefully received on behalf of Cancer Research UK. Donations can be made on the day of the service at Accrington Crematorium or online at https://fundraise. cancerresearchuk.org/ page/clare-tattersall-mum Funeral director: Wolstenholmes Funeral Service
