VeraTHURMANMRS Vera Thurman née Mackereth, of Ennerdale Close, Oswaldtwistle, passed away at Royal Blackburn Hospital on Thursday, September 5, aged 72. From leaving school, Vera worked at Garth Dawson Photographics and trained as a photographer. She often helped Garth with wedding photography. She then worked for Reg Whittam at the Garth Dawson Studio until her retirement. Vera worked very hard, especially during the annual Observer Baby Competition. She loved gardening and animals, enjoyed spending time with her family and looking after her granddaughters. She leaves beloved husband Alex, loving daughters Louise and Helen, sons-in-law Richard and Paul, and treasured granddaughters Evie and Lottie. A funeral service will be held at Immanuel Church on New Lane in Oswaldtwistle at 2pm on Monday, September 23, officiated by minister Tom Donaghey followed by a burial at Accrington Cemetery at 3pm.
