Not only was Margaret my godmother but her mother and my grandmother were very good friends. She held a very special place in my heart. I was delighted to come to England in 1977 and meet her and John for the first time. Around 2007, she and John came to Canada and spent time with us in Toronto. It was wonderful to see her so happy and enjoying herself. My children remember her kindness and the lovely gifts she sent them at Christmas time. May she rest in peace.

Margaret's mother and my maternal grandmother were 2nd cousins, and I have fond memories of Margaret and her friend Janet coming to stay with my parents and my sister and I in the school holidays in the 1960s.We lived in Barrow in Furness then and we had many day trips to the Lakes when they came to stay. Margaret Waite - or Miss Workman as we knew her, was my teacher for four years in the late 60's. A very good musician and an excellent teacher. Rest in Pease. Shirley edson (nee Ford)

What a truly lovely lady! She taught me exactly 50 years ago this year. I remember John as well from East Retford Church. Rest in peace and rise in glory. Ruth Groome - now living in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire.
