DorothyWESTHEADdied peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, aged 75. She was dearly loved sister to Barbara and the late Irene, and also a loving lady to family and friends. Dorothy was born in Clayton-le-Moors and attended All Saints C of E Primary School before moving on to Accrington High School for Girls. Her working life took her to employment with William Birtwistle, Allied Mills and then Blackburn College as a laboratory assistant before retiring as an academic registrar. Dorothy was well educated and had a passion for learning. She attended numerous universities and gained many professional degrees. Dorothy loved her holidays and was well travelled, she loved spending her time at her caravan in the lakes with her friends. Dorothy made many lifelong friends along the way and she will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. A private family funeral service was held. Family flowers only please, donations if desired in memory of Dorothy are being gratefully received on behalf of Leeds Care c/o funeral director Champ Funeral Services, Bank House, Whalley Road, Clayton-le-Moors.
