DesmondWHITEHEADThe family are sad to announce his passing on Wednesday 21st July, aged 85, after a long illness which he bore with great dignity. Formerly of Keynes Road, Cambridge and a long time employee with British Gas, Des will be dearly missed by all his family, friends, work colleagues and Abbey Bowls Club friends. After a wonderful life totally dedicated to his family, he will leave a huge legacy of kindness, pride and love. There will be a private funeral and the family would like to thank all those who have sent kind messages on this sad occasion. Donations welcome to, Staploe Medical Centre, Soham CB7 5JD Cheques made out to Mereside Medical. He will remain forever in our hearts as the gentleman he was.

des was the first gas fitter i worked with as a 15 year old apprentice, i had the greatest respect for him, very sad time to hear of his passing away, they do not make make them like desi anymore. rest in peace gas man. bill kaminski.

Uncle Des was always cheerful. I never heard him criticise or put anyone down. A real gentleman, a lovely uncle, & family man, who will be very much missed.
