GeorgeWHITTAKERMr George Whittaker, of New Lane, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully in Moorhead Care Home, Accrington on Tuesday,July 21, aged 90. He was the dearly loved husband of Irene, a much loved father to Susan, Ian and Philip, father-in-law to John, Debbie and Lyndsey, and a devoted grandad to Jason, Matthew, Andrew, Lauren, Sophie, Ben, Ella and Josh. A brother to Mary and the late May. After leaving school he served an apprenticeship at E J Riley as a cabinet maker and spent most of his working life at Howard and Bullough - Platts. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed walking and completing puzzles and was a keen Blackburn Rovers fan. The funeral was held on Friday, July 31 at 12.30pm at Accrington Crematorium. Donations to Cancer Research or the British Heart Foundation. Funeral director: Hyndburn Funeral Services.
