SelwynWILLIAMSHunodd yn dawel ar y 25ain o Chwefror 2025 yn Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor yn 79 mlwydd oed. Gŵr cariadus y ddiweddar Caren, Graig Wen, Llanffestiniog, tad tyner Siôn Dafydd a Lowri, tad yng nghyfraith a llys-dad Donna, Yankier, Lee, Rhonwen, Maia, Ben a Bleddyn, taid balch Nanon, Nia, Anna a Luca a brawd annwyl Eirian ac Alun. Gwasanaeth cyhoeddus yn Amlosgfa Bangor ar ddydd Mercher 26ain o Fawrth 2025 am 1.30yh. Croeso i chi wisgo rhywbeth coch os dymunwch. Lluniaeth i ddilyn yn y Pengwern, Llanffestiniog, 4yh. Blodau gan y teulu yn unig, ond derbynnir rhoddion yn ddiolchgar er cof am Sel tuag at Gwmni Bro Ffestiniog ac Ward Alaw, Ysbyty Gwynedd trwy law'r Ymgymerwyr.

Died peacefully on the 25th of February 2025 at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, aged 79 years. Loving husband of the late Caren, Graig Wen, Llan ffestiniog, gentle father of Siôn Dafydd and Lowri, father-in-law and stepfather of Donna, Yankier, Lee, Rhonwen, Maia, Ben and Bleddyn, proud grandfather of Nanon, Nia, Anna and Luca and dear brother of Eirian and Alun. Public service at Bangor Crematorium on Wednesday 26th March 2025 at 1.30pm. Wear something red if you so wish. Refreshments to follow at the Pengwern, Llanffestiniog, 4pm. Family flowers only. Donations welcome in memory of Sel towards Cwmni Bro Ffestiniog and Ward Alaw, Ysbyty Gwynedd through the Funeral Directors.

I had the privilege of going to Cuba in 1986 with Sel, as part of the Jose Marti international solidarity brigade. I was only 26 at the time but we became really good friends. He was a lovely, gentle and wise man.
I learnt a lot from Sel about Welsh language and history and was really proud to know him, especially the fact that (he told me) he was on a committee that devised new words for the Welsh language.
I intended to get back in touch to re-establish contact with him and when I tried to look him up last week, after reading an edition of CubaSi magazine, I discovered the funeral notice. I was too late, very sadly.
Lowri, Sel's daughter, might remember staying in my flat in Hackney, London as a teenager, on a visit with Sel. I would love to pass on a personal message to her.
