PaulWILSONWe are saddened to announce the passing of Paul Wilson on Thursday, August 26. Paul spent most of his life living in Helmshore, where he will be most remembered for repairing boilers and the installation of a range of cookers and stoves. He and his family recently moved to Lytham St Annes to enjoy a semi-retired lifestyle by the sea. Paul enjoyed spending his spare time walking his two border terrier dogs, Carlos and Maisie, along the beach with his wife Kaye. He also volunteered at local narrow gauge railways, and taught his grandson Noah to use tools; Paul was always at his happiest if he had a screwdriver in one hand, and a spanner in the other. Most of his time was spent helping others; a shed for Amber, and various house projects with Dan, and a garden gym for Heidi. He will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Paul leaves his devoted wife Kaye, his children, Amber, Daniel and Heidi, grandson Noah, mother Sylvia, brother Darrel, the remainder of his family, and long-lasting friends. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, at 1.15pm at St Thomas’ Musbury, followed by a committal at Accrington Crematorium, officiated by Fr Andrew Holmes. For those who are wishing to attend Paul’s funeral, we ask attendees to wear colours of their own choice. A celebration of Paul’s life will follow at Haslingden Bowling Club afterwards. For those who cared for Paul during his time in hospital, all donations will be made to Blue Skies Hospital Funds at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, c/o funeral director, Caroline Holden-Dewhurst for Johnson, Durning and Woods, Haslingden, to recognise the love, care and compassion shown towards him by those who looked after him. And as Paul would always say...keep smiling.
