WinifredWOODBURNIt is with heartbreak and sorrow that we announce the passing of Winifred Woodburn Nee Langton, beloved Sister, Wife, Mum and Nana who passed away at the age of 79 at home on 16 September 2026.

We will be saying our final goodbye on Wednesday 7th October at 2pm, Allerton Cemetery, Springwood Rosemary Chapel L25 7UN followed by a Celebration of her Life 3pm at Woolton Golf Club Speke Road L25 7TZ.

Win passed suddenly and unexpectedly leaving her family devastated. Win the Daughter of John and Mary Langton (Nee Kelly) grew up in Nutall Street in Wavertree, surrounded by her 11 Brothers and Sisters, Thomas, James, Mary, John, Rose, Patricia, Daniel, Terrence, Francis, Michael and Peter. Win married Billy at the age of 18 remaining together for 61 years, a life full of adventures.

Win worked as a Auxiliary Nurse in Myrtle Street Children's Hospital before creating a number of business including Cristabells, working in markets across Liverpool most notable Great Homer Street before opening a shop in Bold Street. She attended Blackburn College finally gaining formal qualifications in her 50's, Win attended St Annes Primary School and was frequently beaten by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. Despite this Win valued education and knowledge even learning to drive at the age of 69 passing her test on her 70th Birthday. An avid reader of history, fearless and always determined to do and be right.

Billy and their children, William, Daniel, Thomas (D) and Michell, Grandchildren Jennifer, Rebecca, Miriam, Sarah, Michael and Grace will miss her fantastic cakes, bread and pies, her determination and most of all her love and laughter.

Her chosen charity is Save the Children.
