EvaWOODRUP (NEE DEARDEN)Mrs Eva Woodrup, nee Dearden, died following a short illness in Royal Blackburn Hospital on Tuesday, July 7, aged 90. She lived in Stacksteads for most of her life. She was the widow of the late Harry Woodrup, the much-loved mother of Denis, Christine and John, and the mother-in-law of Barbara, Brian and Julie. She also leaves her brother Frank, his wife Kitty, and her sister Hilda. She was grandmother of Susan, Lee, Mandy, Donna, Jayanne and Emma, and had 16 great-grandchildren. She was well-known in the local area, particularly because of her work as a GPO telephonist and at the former Stacksteads Post Office. She retired from office work in R Spencer CCS, near the Glen. She had many friends who will miss her greatly. She attended Holy Trinity Tunstead Church, was a member of Bacup Nat and a former member of Bacup Ladies Guild. A family funeral service was to be held at Burnley Crematorium, to be conducted by the Rev Derek Allen. Family flowers only please, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, either directly or via the family. Funeral director: Paul Swarbrick for Knight and Boys Funeral Services.
