WRIGHTAlan Peacefully passed away on 2nd January, at Ashford Hospital, Kent. Beloved father of Sharon and Trevor, Grandfather of Oliver and Angelina. Alan was born in Epping in 1933 and in 1947 he became a Mechanical Engineer for W.C. Pantin, where he played a major role in designing the first Carousel system in the Uk, at Heathrow Airport. He joined the Air Force as part of his two years National Service, as an Aircraft Engineer and left with the title SAC A. Wright, the highest possible achievement for a National Service man. Alan lived for most of his life in Mayflower Way, Ongar, with his dear wife Jean, who predeceased him. He played football for Epping and Ongar town, in the 1950's and had trials for Fulham. Later in his life he was the manager of Ongar's Castle under nine's football team, during the 1970's and took them through to under sixteens, winning the Harlow Youth Cup. The team became one of the best teams in Essex. Alan's funeral will take place, Thursday 9th February, at 12 noon, St Martin's Church, Ongar. Donations please to the RSPB.
