Melrose Funeral Services Ltd is an independent, British, family owned funeral company established in 1991 under the name of Melrose & Dennis Funeral Services. We became a Limited Company in July 2012 when one of the partners retired. The main office is at 157 -159 Astley Road, Seaton Delaval with a second branch at 39 Market Street, Dudley.
The business is currently owned and managed by Peter and Susan Melrose. Peter has been a funeral director for 33 years starting his career with H. Duckworth in Cramlington in 1984, he is a professionally qualified funeral director and embalmer and is member of The British Institute of Funeral Directors and the British Institute of Embalmers. Susan joined the company in 2004, she is a professionally qualified embalmer and also a member of the British Institute of Embalmers. Also on the staff is Eddie Wellington, Eddie has been with the company since 2014 he is a professionally qualified funeral director and embalmer formerly with the Co-operative Funeral Service and Lilly Davis who joined us in 2012 she is a professionally qualified embalmer and a member of the British Institute of Embalmers. We believe if you are providing and charging for a service you should be professionally qualified to do it.
We offer a complete 24 hour funeral service covering all areas and we are here to advise you on all aspects of arranging a funeral and to make you aware of the choices available to you.
