I knew Michael for approaching 50 years, he was a kind, caring person who always had a smile on his face. Michael clearly loved his family, he also enjoyed the many social gatherings over the years with his extended family. I will miss his company and chats about gardening, formula one and holidays. Michael was the ideal brother in law may he Rip.

Uncle Michael was the best uncle I could have ever asked for. Always kind, and a joy to be around, he made time for you when there was none. If you were having a bad day, it was a good day after you saw his face.

I will forever cherish the memories I have of me and my siblings spending time with Michael and the family at Christmases and other occasions. The way he navigated his long illness amazes me every day, and I know he is, and remains, an inspiration to so many. Thinking of Christine, Louise, Jason and Tim - and the rest of the family of course - at this difficult time. Chris Pink xx
