Online notices

Traditionally, newspaper funeral notices have been a cornerstone of the bereavement process, providing a tangible and public platform to celebrate the lives of those who have departed. Funeral Directors, already familiar with the power of print, may be intrigued to explore an additional dimension — the world of online funeral notices.

Our online notices offer families excellent value at £30 + VAT. They are a great option for families on a budget, ensuring they don't miss out on the benefits of having a tribute page for their loved one on the UK's most popular tribute site, funeral-notices.co.uk.

Many Funeral Directors are already offering online notices and the feedback we receive from families and Funeral Directors is overwhelmingly positive, with families taking comfort from the tributes on their notices. It is really humbling to read each and every notice we publish; reading through the tributes you can really build a picture of what their life was like and what they mean to the people that love them. Tribute pages grow as people interact with them.

All notices that appear on Funeral Notices remain online forever with people returning to add tributes whenever they wish. It’s really easy to search for notices by location on funeral-notices.co.uk and many people visit every day to browse the latest notices in their community, taking the time to add a message or make a donation on the tribute page of someone they knew.

Online funeral notices may be viewed by anyone, anywhere in the world, at any time. This means anyone unable to attend the funeral can add messages of condolence or make a donation, perfect for friends and family abroad as well as your local communities.

Online donations are available on all notices and may be raised for up to 5 charities/good causes. There is no cost to families or Funeral Directors for this service and we provide charities with the information needed to collect Gift Aid - adding an extra 25p to every £1 donated.

Donation profiles remain active on notices for five weeks, after which the funds are sent directly to the charity saving you time and money in the process. The charity(ies) add a tribute on the notice to thank people for the money they received and the donation amount remains visible on the notice forever.

To get started using online notices, select 'online only' when booking your notices or complete the short form below and we will be in touch.

Get in touch to activate QR codes
Back in July, we began offering QR codes for every notice published on funeral-notices.co.uk. QR codes on notices provide a convenient and efficient method for raising awareness and gathering contributions to charitable collections, but they also aim to increase the number of heartfelt tributes made to a loved one on their notice.

QR codes created by Funeral Notices provide a link to the relevant funeral notice online, enabling individuals to easily access and engage with additional information, tribute pages, or charitable collections.

One idea is to add the QR code to the Order of Service design, print it out and pop it inside or place the QR code near the collection box - if online donations are being collected on the notice. This will help people in attendance at the funeral to make a donation, even if they are not carrying any cash on them. If the family are not using the online donation service on their notice, the QR code can be used to raise awareness and invite additional tributes. Each notice booked on funeral-notices.co.uk generates a QR code. Once the notice is booked, we send the QR code to you in a separate email.
You can send the QR code email, featuring the pre-designed page, to your Order of Service provider to include, or print it out to distribute at the funeral. The pre-designed page includes instructions on how to use the QR code.

If you would like to receive the QR code email get in touch and let us know. We will activate it in the background and you'll receive a QR code via email for every notice you book. If you have multiple branches, we can activate it at the branch level so that only the branch that would like to use the service will receive the emails.

Alternatively, you can access the QR code by going into your booking history on our self-serve booking system at any time. Simply click on 'Your Booking History' and you'll see the prompt 'Get QR Code' on the right-hand side beneath the price breakdown. Click on that and download the QR code.

If we book your notices just let us know if you would like a QR code for a specific notice and we will send it over.

To start receiving a QR code via email for every notice you publish please complete the form at the bottom of this article and we will be in touch. Alternatively, you can call the team on 03444 060276 or email fdteam@funeral-notices.co.uk
